Afternoon Talks

Our talks are held at The Methodist Church Centre, South Parade. Talks start at 2.p.m. prompt on Tuesdays on the dates given below.  We look forward to welcoming you. Parking is available on site and nearby in the Pay and Display car park on South Parade.

We charge an entry fee for each talk of £3 per person.​​

2 December - John Ullah - The Aston Hippodrome

6 January - Sarah Williams - Tamworth Castle From its Anglo Saxon roots the castle has a rich history and heritage. Sarah will also bring along items from the collections.

20 January - Kate Round - The History of Stourbridge Glass Kate Round is an outreach presenter and tour guide for Dudley Museum Service.

3 February - Charterhouse – a medieval priory in the heart of Coventry.

17 February - Midland Freewheelers - A group of dedicated volunteers take medical supplies to wherever they are needed.

3 March - Michael Willmott - Railway History Told by Posters. From the earliest days of rail travel, poster advertising was used to encourage people to take the train. Through the artwork of, and captions on, such posters we can catch a glimpse of not just the advances in engineering and in design, but also the contemporary social concerns addressed in the advertising slogans. But if you are not so interested in the history there is much to admire in the work of a glittering array of artists and poster designers stretching over a 180 year period.

17 March - Keith Clenton - Birmingham City Centre Back in Time.
